Founded in 1997 by Craig and Veola Brown, Pearl Gate Construction is a trusted West Virginia-based builder with over three decades of experience in residential construction.
Proudly serving Putnam County and the surrounding communities, the company specializes in both custom-built homes and thoughtfully designed speculative homes ranging from $300,000 to $2.5 million.
What sets Pearl Gate apart is not just experience, but foundation.
That foundation was built long before the first home was ever started.
Over the years, Pearl Gate Construction has built more than 150 residential homes—nearly all within Putnam County—along with over 50 commercial projects. These include townhome developments, church expansions, state park construction for the State of West Virginia, and projects in and around the State Capitol and Governor’s residence. This depth of experience brings confidence and capability to every project, no matter the size or scope.
Craig Brown’s passion for building began early, working alongside his grandfather in Putnam County.
​From a young age, he learned every phase of construction from the ground up—site work, framing, finishing, and full project management. That hands-on experience continues to shape the company’s commitment to craftsmanship, attention to detail, and doing things the right way.
